The 1st strap sample was made:Cartier XL Roadster black crocodile strap, width 19x18mm, length 112x112mm, thick 5.0mm reduce to 1.4mm, dark blue stitching,dyed and burnished edges, black calf lining.
The 2nd strap sample was made:Cartier Roadster black crocodile strap, width 19x18mm, length 110x110 mm, thick 6.5mm reduce to 1.4mm, black stitching,dyed and burnished edges, black calf lining.
The thick at watch lug end of the strap is 6.5 mm, and the thick at tail end is 1.4 mm.The thick 6 mm would bear the heavy watch, and the ultra thin thick 1.4 mm at the tail end would fit your Cartier deployant clasp very well.

The Cartier Roadsterwatch strap is one of the most difficult hand made watch strap.
The Cartier Roadster has the particular structure at watch lugs. There are a pair of quick change metal inserts at lug ends of Cartier Roadster leather strap. We need the quick change metal inserts of the Cartier Roadster old leather watch strap to produce the middle layer of the new custom strap.
I have to pare the British calf leather to be a proper thick, and package the quick change metal inserts with the calf leather to produce the middle layer of the new custom strap.
After that, we glue together among the up side calf leather, the middlemetal insert layerand the back side calf lining, and sew these three pieces togetherwith waxed natural linen thread.
Please take a look at the last few photos, the current roadster leather straps were made of paper board padmiddle layer. But, we pared the calf leatherto be a proper thick, and package the quick change metal inserts with the calf leather to produce the middle layer leatherboard padin stead of the paper board pad of the old OEM strap.
Therefore,our Cartier Roadster handmadeleather strap will be more durable than the original OEM watch strap.
