Prior owners note to the title page, citing this work as a first edition. Several more pencil notations to the margins. 

Prior owners inscription to the front endpapers, Willoughby Gardner, N. Wales. 

Bookbinders stamp to the verso of front endpaper, Heyes and Jones, Liverpool. 

A scare study of this essay on birds. Accompanied with a catalogue of all the British birds, with descriptions of their food, and many hundred examinations of their stomachs.

CONDITION

In a half morocco binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the joints and boards. Evidence of repair to the spine. Small split to the front joint, with the hinge slightly strained but firm. Prior owners inscription to the front pastedown, and to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Prior owners inscriptions to the margins. The odd spot to pages.
