DESCRIPTION
The first edition.
With the original, price-clipped dust wrapper.
Uncommon work.
Written by Anglo-American author, poet and editor, Robert Conquest, who was well known for his contributions to the science-fiction genre, notably for producing the Spectrum Anthologies with Kingsley Amis.
This particular novel is set a few decades after World War Three, in the year 2007, surrounding the story of four friends as they seek new ways to achieve independence from an increasingly-controlling government.
With a "complicated and discursive plot combining political speculation with a remotely told scientific adventure centred on a new "photon drive" which is destined to give humanity a chance to reach beyond the solar system", John Flute, The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction online.
With the ownership stamp of B. Forshaw, British broadcaster and journalist.
